Dress a Live Doll
Through the kindness of sponsors, the dedication of volunteers and the help of our community, many children and families were given unforgettable holiday blessings this past year. New winter clothing and Christmas toys were provided to over 1,480 children through the “Dress A Live Doll” and “Toy Shop” holiday programs on Cape Cod. The Salvation Army and the Senior Corps RSVP volunteer program are working together to make that happen again this Christmas.
Our church participates in the Salvation Army program “Dress a Live Doll” each year. We are given children’s first names and sizes. Congregants pick a name and provide clothing to dress them from “ the skin out”—underwear, clothing and outerwear. And we provide toys. It is a great program and for the kids and a chance for fellowship and service.
***HUMC will dress 4 children this year. Rose Higgins has a sign-up sheet in Fellowship Hall. If you would like to make a financial donation, please make your check out to United Methodist Women and indicate “Dress-A-Live Doll” on the memo line.
