To the People of God on Cape Cod,

May 1^st I had the opportunity to attend the opening of the new headquarters for the Cape Cod Council of Churches and A Baby Center.  What a lovely facility to do the work of the extended faith community! Their guiding principle or “motto” is

“Serving God by Serving Others”

Along with a talented saxophonist playing and yummy goodies, there were wonderful ways to participate in sending messages of hope to the people of Cape Cod who are served by an ecumenical outreach. The Council of Churches has the following programs under it’s umbrella:

A Baby Center – which receives our Diaper Drive items
Faith Family Kitchen
Covenant to Care for Foster Families
Hands of Hope Food Pantry & Outreach Center
Homeless Ministries
Hospital Chaplaincy

The month of May sees the creation stir to life, week after week – Easter’s bulbs have announced the resurrection – New Life is evident everywhere. Soon the nests will be full of hungry young birds and the dens with pups and cubs. I am ready for this creative burst of energy! Christians working together can do so much with God’s energy, the Holy Spirit, empowered the disciples to carry the Good News of Jesus’ resurrection to all the world.
